Getting There

    To reach the Volcano of Santorini from Fira, the main town, head to the Fira bus station located near the cable car station. Look for the bus that says 'Oia' and ask the driver if they can drop you off at the ferry terminal. The bus ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you arrive at the ferry terminal, purchase a ticket for a boat to the Volcano. The boats usually leave every hour, and the journey to the Volcano takes approximately 30 minutes.

    After arriving at the Volcano via the ferry, you will be taken directly to the landing area on the island. Once you disembark, follow the pathways leading upwards to the main attraction area of the Volcano. The walk can take about 30-40 minutes, so wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated.

  • Walking

    If you are in the area of Oia, you can walk down to the old port and catch a boat to the Volcano from there. To find the path down to the old port, follow the signs leading down the cliffside. The walk down is steep but offers stunning views of the caldera. Once you reach the bottom, look for the ticket booth where you can buy your ferry ticket to the Volcano.
