Getting there

Walking

From the center of Ano Poli, walk south towards Egnatia Street (Egnatia Odos). Follow signs to Portara. Walk along Egnatia Street until you reach Charalampou Mouskou. Turn left onto Charalampou Mouskou and continue straight for about 500 meters. Portara will be on your right.

Public Transport

From Egnatia Street, find the nearest bus stop. Take bus number 31 or 33 towards the city center. Get off at the 'Kalamaria' stop. Walk back towards Charalampou Mouskou, turn right, and walk for about 200 meters to reach Portara. A single bus ticket costs €0.60.

Taxi

Taxis are readily available throughout Thessaloniki. A taxi ride from the city center to Portara typically costs around €5-€7 during the day. Note that fares may be higher at night (00:00 to 05:00). You can hail a taxi on the street or call one of the radio taxi companies.
