Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Vale Church, located at the center of Vale. Head north on Church Road towards the main road (the Rue de la Lande). Continue walking straight for about 500 meters until you reach the crossroads with the Rue des Vignes. Turn right onto Rue des Vignes and follow it for approximately 300 meters. You will come to a fork; take the left path towards the coastal area. Continue along the path until you see signs for Fort Le Marchant. The fort will be located on your left side, approximately 200 meters from the fork.

    Catch the local bus service from Vale to the nearest stop to Fort Le Marchant. Board the bus at the Vale Church stop (look for the bus schedule posted nearby). Ride the bus for about 10 minutes; ask the driver to inform you when you reach the nearest stop to Fort Le Marchant. Once you get off the bus, continue walking in the direction the bus was heading for about 10 minutes. You should see the fort on your left side as you approach the coastal area.
