From the central area of the Río Platano Biosphere Reserve, head southeast on the main road towards La Mosquitia. Continue driving for approximately 30 kilometers until you reach the junction at Lavaderito. Turn left at the junction and follow the road for about 15 kilometers. Look for signs indicating El Hollo de MANDILON and continue following those signs until you arrive at RJ2X+F3, Lavaderito, Colón. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for rough terrain as some parts of the road may be unpaved.

Start at the main bus terminal in the Río Platano Biosphere Reserve. Take a bus heading to La Mosquitia. The fare is typically around 50 Lempiras (HNL). Inform the driver you want to stop at Lavaderito. After about 30 minutes, get off at the Lavaderito junction. From there, you may need to hire a local taxi or a motorbike taxi to reach El Hollo de MANDILON, which may cost around 100-150 HNL. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.
