Water Taxi
If you're staying at a hotel or resort in Roatán, ask the concierge or front desk for information about the nearest water taxi service. Most tourists take water taxis from places like West Bay or Coxen Hole to reach West End. Once you board the water taxi, inform the captain that you would like to go to West End. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes, depending on the weather and sea conditions. Look for the colorful signs that indicate the West End stop. After you dock, you will be right in the heart of West End, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the beach.
Local Bus
To reach West End using the local bus service, find a bus stop along the main road. Buses are usually marked with their destination and are a very affordable option. Look for a bus heading towards West End or 'West Bay' as most drivers will drop you off at the junction where you can easily walk to West End. The journey can take around 30-45 minutes, so be prepared for a bit of a ride. Once you arrive at the junction, walk towards the beach area, and you will enter West End.
Bicycle Rental
If you're feeling adventurous, consider renting a bicycle from one of the local shops in West Bay or Coxen Hole. Make sure to follow the road signs directing you towards West End. The ride is approximately 30 minutes along the scenic coastal road. Keep an eye out for potholes and be cautious of traffic. Once you reach West End, you’ll find plenty of bike racks near the beach where you can park your bike.
