Getting There

  • Train

    Start your journey from any central train station in Budapest, such as Keleti Pályaudvar or Nyugati Pályaudvar. Purchase a ticket to Gödöllő at the ticket counter or from a ticket machine. Board the suburban train (HÉV) towards Gödöllő. The journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Gödöllő, exit the train station and follow the signs for the Royal Palace. It is about a 15-minute walk (1.2 km) from the station. Head southwest on Szabadság út, then take a right onto Grassalkovich út, which will lead you directly to the palace entrance.

    From Budapest, you can take a bus to Gödöllő. Head to the bus station at Árpád híd (North Bridge) or any other central bus terminal. Look for the bus routes that go to Gödöllő. The bus ride takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Gödöllő bus station, exit and walk towards the Royal Palace, which is roughly a 20-minute walk (1.5 km). Follow the signs or use a map app to navigate southwest along Kossuth Lajos utca, then turn left onto Grassalkovich út to reach the palace.
