Public Transport
From the center of Vác, walk to the Váci Train Station (Váci Pályaudvar), which is about a 10-minute walk. Once there, purchase a ticket to Budapest. Trains to Budapest frequently depart from Vác, so check the schedule for the next available train. The journey takes approximately 30-40 minutes to get to the Nyugati Railway Station in Budapest. Upon arrival at Nyugati, exit the station and head to the tram stop located outside. Take tram number 4 or 6 and ride it towards the direction of Széll Kálmán tér. Get off at the Széll Kálmán tér stop. From there, you can catch bus number 21 or 21A towards János-hegy. The bus ride will take you directly to the base of János-hegy.
Walking
If you prefer to walk, after arriving at Széll Kálmán tér, head towards the János-hegy area. It is a scenic walk that will take around 1.5 to 2 hours. Follow the main road up to the hills, and you will find signposts directing you towards János-hegy. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings as you ascend towards the peak.
