    If you're driving, take Route 43 (Reykjanesbraut) from either Keflavik Airport or the town of Reykjanesbær. Follow Route 43 for about 20 km until you reach the junction with Route 427. Turn left onto Route 427 and continue for approximately 11 km. You will see signs for Gunnuhver Volcano. Turn right onto R878 and drive for about 1 km. The volcano will be on your right. There is free parking available close to the site.

    To reach Gunnuhver Volcano via public transportation, take the Strætó bus number 55 from Reykjavik to Reykjanesbær. The ride takes approximately 1 hour. Once you arrive at Reykjanesbær, you’ll need to transfer to a local taxi service or a rideshare app since there are no direct bus routes to Gunnuhver Volcano. The taxi ride from Reykjanesbær to Gunnuhver will take about 15-20 minutes and may cost around 4,000 ISK, depending on the service.
