Getting There

    If you are driving from Reykjavik, take Route 1 (the Ring Road) north towards Borgarnes. In Borgarnes, take Route 54 towards Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Continue on Route 54 until you reach the junction with Route 573. Turn right onto Route 573 and follow the signs towards Snorrastöðum. The Eldborg Crater Trailhead is located near Snorrastöðum, approximately 12 km down Route 573. Look for a small parking area on the right side of the road near the trailhead.

    If you are using public transportation, take a bus from Reykjavik to Snæfellsnes Peninsula. Bus services are available from the Reykjavik Central Bus Station to the town of Grundarfjörður.
