After approximately 20 kilometers, take the exit onto Route 574 toward Hellnar and Arnarstapi. Continue on Route 574 for about 15 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 54 again. Turn left onto Route 54 and drive for another 10 kilometers. You will see signs for Helgafell; turn left onto the marked road leading to the mountain. The drive takes about 40 minutes from Stykkishólmur and provides scenic views of the surrounding landscapes.
