    Start at the Meridian City Hall, located at 33 E Broadway Ave. From there, walk to the nearest bus stop at the corner of Broadway Ave and 1st St. Board the ValleyRide Bus Route 3 towards Boise. Stay on the bus for approximately 25 minutes. Get off at the stop at the intersection of 8th St and Main St in Boise. From there, transfer to the ValleyRide Bus Route 19 towards the Old Penitentiary. Ride this bus for about 10 minutes until you reach the stop at 2445 Old Penitentiary Rd, Boise, ID 83712. The Old Idaho Penitentiary Site will be just a short walk from the bus stop.

    Bicycle

    If you prefer biking, start at the Meridian City Hall at 33 E Broadway Ave. Head east on Broadway Ave towards N Main St. Continue onto E Fairview Ave and then onto N Eagle Rd. Follow N Eagle Rd north until you reach the intersection with W State St. Turn left onto W State St and continue until you see the entrance to the Old Idaho Penitentiary. The entire bike ride should take you approximately 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
