To reach Caribou-Targhee National Forest from the Panhandle area, start by getting onto US-95 S from your current location. Follow US-95 S for approximately 60 miles until you reach the junction with I-84. Merge onto I-84 E toward Boise. Continue on I-84 E for about 100 miles. Take exit 13 for US-20 E toward Idaho Falls. Continue on US-20 E for approximately 75 miles. Once in Idaho Falls, take exit 118 for US-26 E toward Jackson. Follow US-26 E for about 30 miles until you see signs for Caribou-Targhee National Forest. Follow these signs to reach the entrance of the forest. Note that there may be entrance fees; check the official website for current rates.

To reach Caribou-Targhee National Forest via public transport, start by taking a Greyhound bus from Coeur d'Alene or Spokane to Idaho Falls. The bus ride may take about 7-10 hours. Once you arrive in Idaho Falls, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach the entrance of Caribou-Targhee National Forest.
