Public Transit
Start at the Berwyn Metra Station located at 6820 Windsor Ave, Berwyn, IL. Board the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) train towards Union Station in Chicago. The train ride will take approximately 25 minutes. Once you arrive at Union Station, exit the station and head towards the Canal Street exit. From there, you can catch a CTA bus (Route 7 or 126) heading east to State Street. Get off at State Street and Wacker Drive. From this bus stop, walk east on Wacker Drive for about 5 minutes until you reach the Chicago Riverwalk. The McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum will be on your right at 99 Chicago Riverwalk.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local bike-sharing services in Berwyn. Start at the Berwyn Metra Station and head east on Windsor Ave. Continue onto 16th St, which will take you directly to the Des Plaines River Trail. Follow the trail north until you reach the north side of the Chicago River. From there, follow the trail that runs alongside the river until you reach the Chicago Riverwalk. The McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum will be at 99 Chicago Riverwalk. This bike ride is approximately 10 miles and should take around 1 hour.

If you're feeling adventurous and enjoy walking, you can take a long stroll from Berwyn to the Chicago Riverwalk. Start at the Berwyn Metra Station and head east on Windsor Ave towards Harlem Ave. Cross Harlem Ave to connect with the 16th St. Walk along 16th St until you reach the Des Plaines River Trail. Continue north along the trail, which will lead you to downtown Chicago. Once you reach the Chicago River, follow the path to the Chicago Riverwalk. This walk will take approximately 2-3 hours, depending on your pace, and is about 10 miles.
