Originally established as the SciTech Hands On Museum in Aurora in 1988, the organization was inspired by the Exploratorium in San Francisco. For over three decades, SciTech served as a physical museum, offering interactive exhibits and programs designed to spark curiosity and foster a love for STEM.In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, SciTech reimagined its approach and transitioned to a mobile STEM initiative. Today, SciTech delivers hands-on STEM workshops directly to children in schools, park districts, libraries, and community events across the Fox Valley region. These STEMshops provide opportunities for young minds to explore, experiment, and create, fostering critical thinking skills in a fun and engaging way.SciTech's mission is to fuel the curiosity of youth and ignite their passion for STEM learning through these mobile initiatives and community engagement. SciTech also offers STEM Adventures Summer Camps. SciTech is committed to making STEM accessible to all, ensuring that quality STEM learning opportunities are available to children throughout the Fox Valley area.
