From any location within Galena Territory, head towards Route 20. Once you reach Route 20, turn onto IL-78 S. Continue on IL-78 S for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with US-20. Turn left onto US-20 E and follow the signs towards Galena. After about 4 miles, take the exit towards Galena. Continue straight until you reach 3rd St and turn right. The Washburne House State Historic Site will be on your left at 908 3rd St, Galena, IL 61036.
