Public Transit - Bus
To get to Hyde Park from Oak Lawn, start by walking to the nearest bus stop. You can catch the Pace Bus Route 385 at the Oak Lawn Metra Station. Board the bus heading towards Chicago. After approximately 20 minutes, disembark at the 95th Street and Western Avenue stop. From there, transfer to the CTA Bus #47 towards the 47th Street station. Stay on the bus for about 25 minutes until you reach the bus stop at 53rd Street and Hyde Park Blvd. Walk east on 53rd Street for about 5 minutes until you arrive at Hyde Park, a vibrant neighborhood in Chicago.
Public Transit - Train
Begin your journey at the Oak Lawn Metra Station. Purchase a ticket for the Metra Rock Island Line towards Chicago. Once on the train, enjoy the approximately 30-minute ride to the 47th Street Station. After getting off, head east towards the intersection of 47th Street and Cottage Grove Avenue. From there, you can catch the CTA Bus #2 that will take you directly into Hyde Park. The bus ride will take about 10 minutes. You will disembark at the main area of Hyde Park, where you can explore the local attractions.
Walking
If you are up for a walk and the weather is pleasant, you can stroll from Oak Lawn to Hyde Park. Begin your walk by heading north on Cicero Avenue. After about 2 miles, turn east on 95th Street. Continue for approximately another mile until you reach the intersection of 95th Street and Western Avenue. From there, head northeast through Washington Park, following the signs to Hyde Park. The total walk may take over an hour, but it is a great way to experience the local scenery.
