The Oak Lawn Park District's Community Pavilion, nestled within the 38-acre Centennial Park, stands as the central recreation hub for the village. Since its incorporation in 1944, the Oak Lawn Park District has been committed to enhancing the quality of life for its residents through diverse leisure opportunities and the preservation of natural resources. This expansive facility boasts over 45,000 square feet of gym space, accommodating sports such as basketball, soccer, pickleball, and volleyball. The versatile gymnasiums can also be transformed into rental spaces for trade shows and martial arts tournaments. Beyond sports, the Community Pavilion provides a comprehensive fitness area, including a Functional Fitness Room, spaces for group fitness classes, massage therapy, and programs like Judo and Karate. The Community Pavilion also caters to various events, offering spaces for birthday parties and business meetings. The Community Pavilion Addition and Expansion project added an 18,000-square-foot gymnasium with a maple hardwood floor. The gym is used for volleyball, basketball, badminton and rentals. The expansion includes a new program room which is available for rentals. The room features seating for up to 50 people and has a counter-top and sink. The Oak Lawn Park District itself manages 34 parks and facilities across 280 acres, overseen by a board of five elected officials. It is also an Illinois Distinguished Agency and nationally accredited through the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation Agencies (CAPRA).
