If you are near the Clock Tower in Jodhpur, you can take an auto-rickshaw directly to Mehrangarh Fort. Simply tell the driver 'Mehrangarh Fort' or show them the address: 'Sodagaran Mohalla, Jodhpur'. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes depending on the traffic. The driver will drop you off at the entrance of the fort.
Walking
If you are already in the vicinity of the Old City, you can walk to Mehrangarh Fort. From the Clock Tower, walk towards the main road (Theai Ka Bera) and then turn left. Follow the road upwards which will lead you to the fort entrance. It’s a steep climb of about 20-30 minutes but offers beautiful views along the way.
Local Bus
You can catch a local bus to Mehrangarh Fort from various points in Jodhpur. Look for buses heading towards 'Chopasni Housing Board' or 'Sardar Market'. Get off at the Mehrangarh Fort stop. The bus ride will take approximately 30 minutes. From the bus stop, it is a short walk to the fort entrance.
Cycle-rickshaw
For a more local experience, consider taking a cycle-rickshaw from your location. You can hail one from the street. Just let the driver know 'Mehrangarh Fort' and enjoy a leisurely ride through the streets of Jodhpur. The journey should take around 20-25 minutes.
