Walking
If you are starting from the Kohima War Cemetery, head south on the main road (Kohima - Dimapur Road). After about 1.5 km, you will reach the junction at the main market area. Take a left onto Upper Bayavü Hill Road. Continue straight for approximately 1 km until you reach a steep incline. The Nagaland State Museum is located at the top of the hill on your right, marked by a sign. The museum is situated at M4P3+2W5, Upper Bayavü Hill, Kohima.
Public Transport (Auto-Rickshaw)
From the Kohima local bus stand, you can take an auto-rickshaw to Upper Bayavü Hill. Inform the driver that you want to go to Nagaland State Museum. The ride will take around 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Once you arrive, the museum is along the main road, and you can easily spot it from the rickshaw.
Public Transport (City Bus)
Catch a local city bus from the Kohima bus stand heading towards Upper Bayavü Hill. Make sure to ask the driver if they stop near the Nagaland State Museum. It may take about 30 minutes. After disembarking, walk up the last stretch of the road where you will find the museum on your right at M4P3+2W5, Upper Bayavü Hill.
