Car
From Pahalgam, head southeast on the Anantnag-Pahalgam Road. Continue along this road for approximately 12 kilometers until you reach the entrance of the Overa Aru Wildlife Sanctuary. The sanctuary is located at the coordinates 34.0409515, 75.3178952. Follow the signs to the sanctuary once you are close. There is a small parking area at the entrance. Note that there might be an entry fee for the sanctuary, so be prepared with some cash.

Public Transportation
To reach Overa Aru Wildlife Sanctuary using public transportation, start from the main bus stand in Pahalgam. Look for a local bus heading towards Aru Valley; these buses typically run every 30 minutes. The bus ride will take about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Aru Valley, you will have to hire a local taxi or a horse ride to take you to the wildlife sanctuary, which is about 6 kilometers from the Aru Valley bus stop. Expect to pay around INR 500-700 for the taxi or horse ride. Make sure to confirm the return arrangements with the driver or horseman.

If you prefer to walk and enjoy the scenery, you can trek from Aru Valley to Overa Aru Wildlife Sanctuary. The trail is about 6 kilometers long and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forests. It usually takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to reach the sanctuary on foot, depending on your pace. Make sure to wear comfortable hiking shoes and carry some water. This option is free of cost, aside from any entry fees to the sanctuary.
