Getting There

• Private Car

  From Tawang town, head towards the Tawang Monastery. Continue on the main road past the monastery, following the signs for Bumla Pass. Ensure your vehicle is suitable for hilly terrain. There may be checkpoints along the way, so keep your identification and any required permits handy.

• Shared Taxi

  You can find shared taxis in Tawang near the main market area. Look for vehicles heading towards Bumla Pass. The fare varies, typically around INR 600-800 per person, and the journey takes about 1.5 to 2 hours. Ensure that the taxi is authorized for travel to Bumla Pass, as permits are necessary. The shared taxi will drop you off at a designated point close to the pass.

• Public Bus

  While there might not be a direct public bus to Bumla Pass, you can first take a bus from Tawang to Jang, which operates frequently. Once you reach Jang, you can hire a local taxi or jeep to take you up to Bumla Pass. The bus fare to Jang is approximately INR 50-100 per person, and the taxi fare from Jang to Bumla Pass may cost around INR 1000-1500 for the round trip.
