Walking
If you are near the Varanasi Cantt Railway Station, exit the station and head east towards Station Road. Continue straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Varanasi-Jaunpur Road. Turn right onto Varanasi-Jaunpur Road and walk for another 800 meters. You will see the entrance to Banaras Hindu University on your left.
Auto-rickshaw
From the Dashashwamedh Ghat, find an auto-rickshaw stand and tell the driver you want to go to Banaras Hindu University in Ajagara. The ride should take around 15-20 minutes depending on traffic. Make sure to mention 'Ajagara' to the driver for clarity. The fare is typically around 50-100 INR, but confirm the price before starting your journey.
Cycle-rickshaw
If you are near the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, you can hire a cycle-rickshaw. Tell the rickshaw puller to take you to Banaras Hindu University in Ajagara. The distance is about 3 kilometers, and it should take approximately 15-25 minutes. The fare can be negotiated; expect to pay around 30-60 INR.
