    From the center of Gary, head to the nearest bus stop and catch the Gary Public Transit bus route 10 towards Chicago. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes until you reach the South Chicago Avenue stop. From there, transfer to the Pace bus route 364 heading towards Chicago Hyde Park. After approximately 15 minutes on this bus, you'll arrive at Hyde Park, Chicago.

    Walking

    If you are near the Gary Public Library, you can walk to the nearest bus stop, which is located on 5th Avenue & Broadway. Head north on Broadway until you reach 5th Avenue, then turn left. The bus stop will be on your right. Once you reach the bus stop, follow the public transit instructions above to get to Hyde Park.

    Bicycle Rental

    If you prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in downtown Gary. Start by heading north towards the South Shore Line train station. Follow the bike lanes along Broadway until you reach the intersection with 5th Avenue. Continue east until you reach Chicago Avenue, then head south until you reach Hyde Park.
