Bus
From downtown Gary, head to the nearest bus stop on Broadway Ave. Take the Gary Public Transit bus (Route 11) towards the Gary Metro Center. Ride for about 15 minutes until you reach the bus stop at 5th Ave & Broadway. Transfer to the Pace bus (Route 379) towards Chicago, which will take you directly to the Chicago Loop. After approximately 45 minutes, you will arrive at the stop near the Chicago Riverwalk. Walk towards the river, and you will find the McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum at 99 Chicago Riverwalk.

Train
From the Gary Metro Center, take the South Shore Line train towards Chicago Millennium Station. The train ride will take about 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Millennium Station, exit the train and walk towards the Riverwalk. Head northwest on East Randolph St towards North Michigan Ave, then turn right on North Michigan Ave. Continue walking until you reach the Chicago Riverwalk. The McCormick Bridgehouse & Chicago River Museum is located at 99 Chicago Riverwalk.

If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from a local bike-sharing program in Gary. Start your ride by heading south on Broadway Ave. Continue until you reach the lakefront trail which leads to Chicago.
