Public Transit
To reach The Murphy at 50 E Erie St, Chicago from Gary, Indiana, start by taking the South Shore Line train from Gary Metro Center toward Chicago. The train departs regularly. After about a 50-minute ride, get off at the Millennium Station in downtown Chicago. Once you exit the station, walk northeast on East Randolph Street toward North Michigan Avenue. Turn right onto North Michigan Avenue and continue walking until you reach East Erie Street. Turn left onto East Erie Street, and The Murphy will be on your right at 50 E Erie St.
Bus
From the downtown area of Gary, you can take the Gary Public Transit bus route 10 towards Chicago. Stay on the bus until you reach the South Shore Line train station. Transfer to the South Shore Line train as mentioned above, heading towards Chicago. After arriving at Millennium Station, follow the same walking directions to The Murphy: walk northeast on East Randolph Street toward North Michigan Avenue, turn right onto North Michigan Avenue, and then left onto East Erie Street.
Walking from Downtown Gary
If you are near the downtown area of Gary, you can start walking towards the Gary Metro Center. It is a central hub for public transport. Once at the Metro Center, take the South Shore Line train as described above. After arriving in Chicago, follow the previous walking instructions to reach The Murphy.
