Fannie May began in 1920 when H. Teller Archibald opened the first store at 11 N. LaSalle Street in Chicago's Loop. Starting with a handful of buttercream recipes, the brand grew rapidly, expanding to dozens of shops by 1935. Even during wartime shortages, Fannie May maintained quality using fresh cream, real butter, and fine chocolate. Today, owned by Ferrero, it produces over 100 confections while honoring its Chicago roots.

Iconic treats include the Pixie from 1946, featuring gooey caramel, crunchy pecans, and milk chocolate. Mint Meltaways, introduced in 1963, blend dark chocolate and peppermint.
