Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start on IN-145 North from any location within Patoka Lake. Continue for approximately 5 miles until you reach the intersection with IN-64 East. Turn left onto IN-64 East and drive for about 3 miles until you see a sign for Patoka Lake. Take the exit for North Dillard Road and turn left onto North Dillard Road. The Patoka Lake Visitor Center will be on your right after about 1 mile at the address 3084 North Dillard Rd, Birdseye, IN 47513.

• Public Transportation

  Currently, there is limited public transportation service in the Patoka Lake area. You may need to arrange for a taxi or rideshare service to travel to the visitor center. If you're in a nearby town, such as Jasper, you can take a bus to Birdseye, and then call for a local taxi service to take you the remaining distance to the visitor center. Make sure to check the local bus schedules in advance, as they may vary.

• Bicycle

  For the adventurous, biking is a great way to reach the Patoka Lake Visitor Center. If you are staying within the Patoka Lake area, you can take the trails that lead to the visitor center. Ensure you have a map or a GPS device, as some trails may not be well-marked. From the main park roads, follow the signage towards the visitor center, which is about a 5-mile ride from most campgrounds.

• Walking

  If you're nearby and prefer to walk, you can take a scenic route along the park trails. Expect a walk of about 1.5 to 2 miles, depending on your starting point. Follow the marked trails leading towards North Dillard Road, and once you reach the road, head south, and the visitor center will be on your left.
