Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Ubud, head to the Ubud Terminal. Look for a bus heading towards Bangli. The ride should take about 30-40 minutes. Once you arrive at the Bangli bus terminal, take a local 'bemo' (minibus) heading to Kubu. Inform the driver you want to get off at Penglipuran Village. The bemo will drop you at the entrance of the village.

  • Bicycle

    If you're staying in Ubud, rent a bicycle and head east on Jalan Raya Ubud. Continue on Jalan Raya until you reach the junction at Jalan Gunung Agung. Turn left onto Jalan Gunung Agung and follow the road until you reach the intersection with Jalan Penglipuran. Turn right onto Jalan Penglipuran. The village will be a short ride from there.

  • Walking

    If you happen to be in the vicinity of Bangli, you can walk to Penglipuran Village. From the Bangli bus terminal, head east on Jalan Raya Bangli for about 1.5 km until you reach Jalan Penglipuran. Turn left and walk straight for approximately 2 km. Follow the signs leading to Penglipuran Village.

  • Motorbike Rental

    Rent a motorbike from Ubud or nearby areas. From Ubud, take Jalan Raya Ubud east, then follow the road signs toward Bangli. Upon reaching Bangli, look for signs towards Kubu. Follow the directions to Jalan Penglipuran, and you will find the village on your left. The ride takes about 30 minutes.
