Puncak Waringin: A Scenic Gem in Labuan Bajo

Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, start from Labuan Bajo, which is the main gateway to Komodo National Park. Drive south on Jl. Soekarno Hatta for about 10 minutes until you reach the fork at the junction. Take the left fork onto Jl. Pelabuhan, following the signs towards Puncak Waringin. Continue on this road for approximately 15 minutes until you reach the entrance of the Puncak Waringin viewpoint. There is usually no parking fee, but ensure to check for any updates on the local regulations.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Puncak Waringin via public transportation, start at the main bus terminal in Labuan Bajo. Look for a local minibus or 'angkot' that is headed towards the Puncak Waringin area. The fare should be around IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000. Inform the driver of your destination to ensure they stop at the viewpoint. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes. Once you arrive at the drop-off point, it's a short 5-minute walk to the viewpoint.

• Walking

  If you are already in Labuan Bajo and prefer walking, you can take a leisurely stroll to Puncak Waringin. Starting from central Labuan Bajo, head south towards the coastline and follow the waterfront road. After approximately 30 minutes of walking, you will reach the base of the hill where Puncak Waringin is located. The hike up to the viewpoint takes about 15 minutes and is moderately steep, so wear comfortable shoes.
