Getting There

  • Car

    If you are driving a car, start from Rantepao, the main town in Tana Toraja. Head northwest on Jl. Jend. Sudirman toward Jl. Pahlawan. Continue on Jl. Pahlawan for approximately 7 km until you reach the junction with Jl. Poros Makale. Turn left onto Jl. Poros Makale and drive for about 15 km. Look for signs to Tonga Riu and turn onto the Unnamed Road. Follow this road for about 5 km, and you will arrive at Lo'ko Mata Stone Graveyard, located at the coordinates 3VW6+9VW. Parking should be available near the site.

  • Public Transportation

    To reach Lo'ko Mata Stone Graveyard using public transportation, start at the Rantepao bus terminal. Look for a minibus or shared taxi heading towards Makale. The fare is usually around IDR 20,000 to IDR 30,000. Inform the driver that you want to get off at the junction for Tonga Riu. After about 30 minutes, you will reach the junction. Once you arrive, you will need to hire a local motorcycle taxi (ojek) to take you the remaining 5 km to the graveyard. The fare for the motorcycle taxi should be around IDR 15,000 to IDR 25,000.
