Public Bus
From the city center of Yogyakarta, head to the nearest Trans Jogja bus stop. Take the Trans Jogja bus number 1A or 1B heading towards the Jombor Terminal. The fare is affordable, and buses run frequently. Once you reach Jombor Terminal, transfer to a local minibus (often called 'angkot') heading to Cangkringan. Tell the driver you want to go to Jeep Merapi, and they will drop you off near the entrance. From there, it’s a short walk to Jeep Merapi.

Bike Rental
If you prefer cycling, rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Yogyakarta. Head north towards Kaliurang Road (Jalan Kaliurang) which leads to the Cangkringan area. The distance is about 25 km and it might take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your cycling speed. Follow the signs to Cangkringan and once you reach the area, ask locals for directions to Jeep Merapi, which is well-known. Make sure to carry some water and wear a helmet for safety.
