If you are in the Yogyakarta city center, head towards Jalan Malioboro. From there, walk south towards the Kraton (Sultan's Palace). Follow the signs to the Kraton. Once you reach the entrance of the Kraton, continue walking along the pathway that leads you to the Panembahan area. The Museum Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono IX is located just a short walk from the Kraton, near the entrance of the palace complex. Look for the museum signs along the way.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the many rental shops in the city center. Ride towards Jalan Malioboro and head south towards the Kraton. Keep to the bike lanes where available. Once you reach the Kraton, park your bicycle securely and walk towards the museum which is located in the Panembahan area. It’s a short distance from the Kraton entrance.
