Getting There

  • Walking

    From the center of Ottumwa, head southeast on E Main St toward S Jefferson St. Continue walking straight for about 1 mile until you reach the intersection of E Main St and S Court St. Turn left onto S Court St and keep walking for another 0.5 miles. At the next intersection, turn right onto W 2nd St and continue for 0.3 miles. Turn left onto US-34 E and follow the road for approximately 7 miles. Look for signs directing you to Eldon, IA. Upon entering Eldon, turn left onto American Gothic St. The American Gothic House Center will be on your left at 300 American Gothic St.

  • Public Transit (Bus)

    Start at the Ottumwa Transit station located at 600 E Main St. Board the Route 1 bus heading east. Get off at the stop at W 2nd St & S Court St after about 15 minutes. From there, walk south on S Court St for about 0.5 miles until you reach US-34 E. You will need to cross the highway heading towards Eldon. Follow US-34 E for about 7 miles. Once you enter Eldon, turn left onto American Gothic St. The American Gothic House Center will be at 300 American Gothic St on your left.
