Explore outdoor adventures at Mill Creek Park in Paullina, Iowa: camping, fishing, swimming, hiking, and more for the whole family!
Mill Creek Park, a true gem of Northwest Iowa, offers a diverse range of activities for the whole family. Located a half-mile east of Paullina on Iowa Highway 10, this 139-acre park is centered around Paullina Lake. The park's origins date back to the 1930s when local residents devised a plan to dam Mill Creek. The Iowa Conservation Commission officially dedicated Mill Creek State Park on October 1, 1938. Today, Mill Creek Park is managed by the O'Brien County Conservation Board and offers something for every outdoor lover. Anglers can try their luck catching largemouth bass, sunfish, channel catfish, crappie, and yellow perch. The park also features a swimming beach, playground, and hiking trails. In the winter, the aerated fishing platform provides a unique ice fishing experience. For those looking to stay overnight, Mill Creek Park has 48 campsites with electric, water, and internet service, as well as camping cabins. The park also has a lodge that can accommodate up to 80 people. Other amenities include a concession stand (open Memorial Day to Labor Day), shower house, modern toilets and a dump site.
