Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from O'Connell Street, head south towards the River Liffey. Cross the river via O'Connell Bridge. Once you are on the south side, continue straight onto Suffolk Street. Follow Suffolk Street until you reach the junction with Dawson Street. Turn left onto Dawson Street and continue until you reach Molesworth Street. Turn right onto Molesworth Street, and then take a left onto Dame Street. Dublin Castle will be on your right at the intersection.

  • Public Transport (Bus)

    From the central area, find a bus stop that services routes towards Dame Street. You can take the Dublin Bus route 15 or 123. Board the bus and stay on until you reach the stop at 'Castle Street'. Once you disembark, walk back towards Dame Street, and you will see Dublin Castle just ahead on your left.

  • Tram (Luas)

    If you are near a Luas stop, such as Abbey Street, take the Luas Red Line towards Tallaght. Get off at the 'Jervis' stop. Once you exit, walk south towards the River Liffey, cross the river, and follow the same route through O'Connell Bridge to Dame Street. Dublin Castle will be located on your right.

  • Walking from Trinity College

    Exit Trinity College and head towards College Green. Walk straight across College Green towards the junction with Dame Street. Once you reach Dame Street, turn left and continue walking. Dublin Castle will be on your right side after a short walk.

  • Walking from Temple Bar

    Start at the Temple Bar area and head towards the river. Walk to the southern end of Temple Bar and cross the river via the Ha'penny Bridge. Once on the other side, turn left and walk along the river until you reach the junction with Dame Street. Turn right onto Dame Street, and you will find Dublin Castle on your left.
