Getting There

Walking
If you are starting from Eyre Square, exit the square and head towards the Shop Street, which is directly south. Walk straight down Shop Street until you reach the crossroads with Quay Street. Turn left onto Quay Street and follow the street until you reach the Spanish Arch. From there, continue along the riverfront on your left, which transforms into the River Corrib path. After roughly 10 minutes of walking, you will see the impressive Galway Cathedral on your right, located on Gaol Road.

Bus
From Eyre Square, head towards the bus stop for Bus Éireann located on the square. Take Bus Route 403 or 404 heading towards 'Loughrea' or 'Mervue'. The bus will stop at the 'University' stop. From there, exit and walk back towards the traffic lights. Cross the road and walk straight down towards the cathedral, which is about a 10-minute walk down the Gaol Road.

Bicycle
If you have access to a bicycle, you can rent one from a local bike shop in Eyre Square. Head towards the river and take the path along the River Corrib. Continue cycling along the path until you see signs for the Galway Cathedral. It will be a scenic ride and should take around 10-15 minutes, depending on your speed.
