Getting There

  • Walking

    Start at the Kinsale Tourist Office located on Main Street. Head east on Main Street towards the intersection with Pier Road. Continue straight onto Pier Road, passing the marina on your right. Follow Pier Road until you reach the roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit onto the R600, which is also known as the Kinsale - Bandon Road. Walk along the road for about 1.5 km. Keep an eye out for signs indicating 'Scilly Bog' as you approach the Troopers-Close area.

    After approximately 1.5 km, you will reach Barracks Lane on your left. Turn left onto Barracks Lane and walk straight for about 200 meters. You will see the entrance to Scilly Bog on your right. The address is 6 Barracks Lane, Troopers-Close, Kinsale, Co. Cork, P17 N205.

  • Public Transport

    From Kinsale town center, you can take a local bus (Bus Eireann service) that heads towards Bandon. Make sure to ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest stop to Troopers-Close. From the bus stop, walk approximately 500 meters along the R600 towards Barracks Lane, then turn right onto Barracks Lane. Scilly Bog will be on your right after about 200 meters.
