Start at the Kinsale town center, near the Kinsale Tourist Information Office. From there, head south on Main Street. Continue straight until you reach the junction with Pier Road. Turn right onto Pier Road and follow it until you arrive at the waterfront. At the waterfront, you will see a sign for the scenic walking path to James Fort. Follow the path along the water, enjoying the views. After about 15-20 minutes of walking, you will reach James Fort, located on the right side of the path.

From the Kinsale town center, walk to the local bus stop near the Church of St. Multose. Take the bus heading towards Cork. Inform the driver that you wish to get off at the stop for James Fort. The bus ride should take about 10-15 minutes, and be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may vary. Once you arrive, it is just a short walk to the fort entrance.
