Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car, make your way to Slieve League Ave, Cappagh, Teelin, Co. Donegal. The Sliabh Liag Viewing Platform is located approximately 1.5 km from the main parking area at the Slieve League Cliffs. From the parking lot, follow the signs for the viewing platform. The road is narrow and winding, so please drive cautiously. There is no entry fee, but parking may be limited during peak tourist seasons.

• Public Transportation

  If you are using public transportation, take a bus to the nearest town, Teelin. Bus services such as Bus Éireann operate routes to Donegal Town, where you can catch a connecting bus to Teelin. From Teelin, you will need to walk approximately 2 km to reach the Slieve League Viewing Platform. Follow the signs towards the Cliffs and consult local maps for the best walking route. Be mindful that public transport may have limited schedules, especially on weekends.

• Walking

  For those who prefer walking, once you arrive at the car park at Slieve League, the path to the Sliabh Liag Viewing Platform is well-marked. The walk takes about 20-30 minutes along a scenic trail with breathtaking views. Be sure to wear appropriate footwear, as the path can be uneven. The trail is suitable for most fitness levels, but it is advisable to check the weather conditions before heading out.
