Car
If you're traveling by car, start from the town of Lisdoonvarna. Head southwest on the R478 towards the coast. After about 4 kilometers, turn left onto the N67. Follow this road for approximately 6 kilometers until you reach the junction with the R476. Turn right onto the R476, which will lead you towards the Clahane area. Continue straight for about 3 kilometers, and then look for a small unnamed road leading to the left. Follow this road for about 1 kilometer until you see the Clahane Viewpoint on your right. There is free parking available near the viewpoint.
Public Transportation
To reach Clahane Viewpoint via public transportation, first take a bus from Ennis to Doolin. Bus services typically run several times a day. Once in Doolin, you will need to take a taxi to Clahane Viewpoint as public transport does not run directly to this location. The taxi ride will take approximately 15 minutes and may cost around €15-€20. It's advisable to arrange your return taxi in advance, as service can be limited.
Walking
If you are in the nearby village of Doolin and prefer walking, you can hike to Clahane Viewpoint. Start at the center of Doolin and head west towards the coast along the coastal path. The hike will take about 1.5 to 2 hours depending on your pace. Follow the signs for the Cliffs of Moher Walk, but instead of going to the cliffs, veer left on the trail towards Clahane. Enjoy the scenic views along the way!
