From the heart of Waterford City, start at the Main Street (also known as O'Connell Street). Head east towards the junction with John Street. Cross the bridge to the other side of the river. Once you are on the other side, follow the road along the riverbank, which will eventually lead you to Blackfriars Abbey (ruin). The abbey is situated in a small park area and is clearly marked.
