From central Onchan, head south towards the main road (A5). Follow the A5 road towards Douglas. After approximately 1 mile, you will approach the roundabout at the junction with the A2. Continue straight onto the A2 road towards Castletown. After about 5 miles, you will enter Castletown. As you enter the town, follow the signs for Castle Rushen. The castle is located on Castle Street, which is a short walk from the town center. The total walking distance is approximately 6 miles and should take around 2 hours.

From Onchan, walk to the nearest bus stop on Main Road (A5). Catch the Bus Vannin route 1, which operates frequently towards Douglas. Once in Douglas, change to route 2 heading towards Castletown. The entire bus journey will take about 30-40 minutes. After alighting in Castletown, walk towards Castle Street, where Castle Rushen is located. The total travel time by bus is approximately 1 hour, depending on connections.
