Walking
If you are near the Old City of Jerusalem, head towards the Lions' Gate, which is one of the entrances to the Old City. From Lions' Gate, walk straight along the pathway until you reach the junction at the base of the Temple Mount. Continue straight and you will see the Golden Gate (also known as the Gate of Mercy) in front of you. It is located on the eastern wall of the Old City, just opposite the Mount of Olives. The walk should take about 15-20 minutes from Lions' Gate.
Public Transport (Bus)
From various locations in East Jerusalem, you can take a bus heading to the Old City. Look for bus lines 75 or 77, which frequently service the area. Board the bus and pay the fare (approximately 6-7 NIS). Disembark at the stop nearest to the Old City, such as the Damascus Gate. From there, follow the signs toward the Lions' Gate and continue walking as described previously to reach the Golden Gate.
Taxi (shared or private)
If you prefer a quicker option, you can use a taxi to get close to the Golden Gate. Taxis are readily available throughout East Jerusalem. You can share a taxi with other passengers to reduce costs; the fare should be around 20-30 NIS per person depending on the distance.
