Walking
If you are in the Old City of Jerusalem, make your way towards the Dung Gate, which is the closest entrance to the Eastern Wall. From the Dung Gate, walk straight ahead into the area known as the City of David. The Eastern Wall is located adjacent to the Temple Mount, and you can approach it from the southern end of the wall, where you will find a pathway leading you closer. Follow the path, and you will see the wall ahead. This is a short walk, approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your pace.
Public Bus
If you are further away in East Jerusalem, take a public bus (e.g., line 75) from the city center towards the Old City. Disembark at the stop closest to the Dung Gate. The bus fare is around 6 NIS. From the Dung Gate, walk straight into the Old City, heading towards the City of David as described in the walking directions above.
Taxi or Shared Taxi
For a more comfortable option, you can take a taxi or shared taxi (sherut) from various locations in East Jerusalem. Ensure you ask the driver to drop you off at the Dung Gate. The cost for a taxi ride from areas like Sheikh Jarrah or the Mount of Olives to the Dung Gate should be around 30-50 NIS. From the Dung Gate, follow the walking directions provided earlier to reach the Eastern Wall.
