From any location in Città Bassa, head towards Viale Papa Giovanni XXIII. This main street is a key artery of the area. Proceed northwest until you reach the intersection with Via G. Donizetti. Turn left onto Via G. Donizetti and continue straight until you reach the end of the road. You will see the funicular entrance on your right.

Funicular
Take the funicular from Città Bassa to Città Alta (Upper Town). The ticket for a single journey costs approximately €1.30 and can be purchased at the ticket machine at the funicular station. The ride will take about 10 minutes. Once you arrive in Città Alta, you will be greeted with stunning views of Bergamo.

Once you exit the funicular station in Città Alta, walk towards the historic center. Follow the main pathway leading to Piazza Vecchia.
