Getting There

  • Car

    From Cervinia, head south on the SR46 towards Breuil-Cervinia. Follow the road until you reach the junction for the A5 motorway. Take the A5 towards Aosta. After approximately 25 km, take the exit for Aosta Est. Continue on the SS26 towards Courmayeur. After around 20 km, follow the signs to the Mont Blanc Tunnel. You will need to pay a toll to use the tunnel (approximately €60 for a one-way car trip). After exiting the tunnel, follow the signs to Chamonix and then to Zermatt. Note that Zermatt is a car-free village, so park at Täsch (there's a large parking facility) and take a train or taxi to Zermatt.

    From Cervinia, take the local bus to Valtournenche. From Valtournenche, take a bus to Châtillon. In Châtillon, transfer to the train station and take a train towards Aosta. Upon arriving in Aosta, board the train to Pré-Saint-Didier. From Pré-Saint-Didier, you will need to take another train to Chamonix. Once in Chamonix, take a train towards Zermatt. Note that you may need to change trains at various points. This journey may take a considerable amount of time (approximately 4-6 hours), so plan accordingly.
