If you're starting from any of the Cinque Terre villages, take the train towards Santa Margherita Ligure. The nearest train station is in the village of Monterosso al Mare. Board the train and enjoy the scenic ride. Disembark at Santa Margherita Ligure station. From there, it's about a 10-15 minute walk to the Area Marina Protetta di Portofino.
