Walking
From the Lucca Train Station, exit the station and turn left onto Viale Giuseppe Garibaldi. Walk straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the ancient city walls. Continue walking along the walls until you reach the Porta San Pietro. Once you pass through the gate, you will be in the old town. Continue straight on Via San Pietro, and then take a left onto Via Fillungo. Follow this street until you reach Piazza Santa Maria, which will be on your right.

If you are near the Lucca Cathedral (Duomo di Lucca), exit the cathedral and head east on Via Giuseppe Mazzini. Continue straight until you reach Piazza San Giovanni. From there, turn right onto Via Roma and walk straight for about 300 meters until you reach Piazza Santa Maria, which will be on your left.

If you are at the central bus station (Piazza Verdi), walk towards the city walls and enter through Porta San Donato. Once inside, head straight and take the first right onto Via della Cavallerizza.
