From the center of Montepulciano, head towards the main square, Piazza Grande. Once you reach the square, take Via Ricci, which is the main street leading out of the town. Continue walking straight for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach a fork in the road. At the fork, take the left path that leads towards the countryside.
