Giuseppe Garibaldi Monument: A Tribute to Italian Unity

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're starting from Parma's central train station (Stazione di Parma), exit the station and head towards Via Mazzini. Walk straight along Via Mazzini until you reach the intersection with Via Garibaldi. Turn right onto Via Garibaldi, and continue walking until you reach Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi, where the monument is located. The total distance is about 1.5 kilometers and should take approximately 20 minutes on foot.

• Public Transport (Bus)

  From the central train station (Stazione di Parma), take bus line 6 in the direction of 'Parco Ducale'. Get off at the 'Piazza Garibaldi' stop. From there, walk a short distance toward the center of the square, and you will find the Giuseppe Garibaldi Monument. The bus ride takes around 10 minutes, and the stop is approximately a 3-minute walk from the monument.

• Walking from Palazzo della Pilotta

  If you're visiting the Palazzo della Pilotta, exit the building and head south toward Via Montebello. Turn right onto Via Montebello and walk straight until you reach Piazza Garibaldi. The monument will be in the square, a short walk of about 600 meters, which should take around 8 minutes.

• Walking from Cathedral of Parma

  Starting from the Cathedral of Parma (Duomo di Parma), head east towards Piazza del Duomo. Exit the square and turn left onto Via Farini. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Via Garibaldi. Turn right onto Via Garibaldi, and you will arrive at Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi in about 10 minutes, covering a distance of approximately 800 meters.
